The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service aims to deliver clinical services within an integrated mental health service environment with a multidisciplinary team focus. Incorporating clinical assessments, management, advice, education, consultancy and liaison.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Mental Health - Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide services in the area of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry
- Contribute and participate in the development and implementation of education programs, relevant to Consultation Liaison Psychiatry
- Provide expertise, advice, education and support to non mental health professionals
- Contribute to the development of evidenced-based clinical practices, procedures and protocols to achieve consumer health outcomes
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
- A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time or permanent part time (hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum or $54.44 - $58.30 per hour

The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service aims to improve the integration of mental health services into the general hospital system. The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service will provide access to specialist mental health services to patients of a general hospital, equivalent to that provided to other Queenslanders experiencing a mental disorder.
