Registered Nurse

Under the supervision (direct or indirect) of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, the Enrolled Nurse (Advanced Skill) is responsible for providing quality care within a health service setting, contributing to the coordination and standards of care for patients within the unit.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill (Mental Health - Inpatient Unit Wattle) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Participate in quality, service improvement and research activities to continually improve consumer safety and care
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities
  • Liaise with consumers and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers, as required to ensure quality service delivery
  • Assist allied health/staff visitor with co-facilitation of groups and facilitate groups as the group nurse

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Must hold a Board (NMBA) approved qualification in medication administration. Completion of 519HLTEN A, B or C or 007HLTEN will be highly regarded
  • An Advanced Diploma qualification in relevant area of specialty is highly desirable
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

  • Base salary ranging from $77 840 - $82 599 per annum

About Us

The Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Service provide a service that has integrated hospital and community mental health services and specialist drug and alcohol services. The position available is on the Wattle Child and Youth Mental Health Unit Wattle – Acute Child and Youth mental health Inpatient unit.

The Wattle Child and Youth Inpatient Unit at Robina Hospital provides 24-hour care for children and adolescents who are suffering from emotional or behavioural disturbances. Clients are admitted to the 8-bed unit for the treatment of acute mental illnesses, comprehensive assessments or for planned psychotherapy.
