Conducted annually in August, the MTS surveys thousands of doctors-in-training across Australia. Online job vacancies for health and medical occupations across Australia remained steady in November 2024 compared to the previous month. Most occupation groups saw minor declines, while vacancies for Medical Practitioners rose significantly in all states and territories. Read more in our full report.

Forty new doctors have started 2025 internships at Bendigo Health, to train in areas such as general medicine, surgery, emergency, renal, oncology, orthopaedics, cardiology, geriatrics, and urology. Interns are supported by strong mentorship, community ties, and educational opportunities. The program fosters long-term careers with many interns having completed clinical rotations at Bendigo hospital during medical school, and most of last year’s interns staying on at Bendigo Health.
