About your opportunity:

In this position you will provide an early leadership role within the career pathway for midwifery within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. The Clinical Midwife Data Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the quality and completeness of perinatal data collection and other women's health databases at the Cairns Hospital. This position works with and supports the Women's Health Managers and Regional Maternity Services Coordinator. The Clinical Midwife Data Coordinator utlilises advanced midwifery practice knowledge to ensure accuracy of data and interpretation.

About your role:

  • Integrate advanced midwifery knowledge and clinical experience with evidence from a range of sources to ensure accuracy of data input and interpretation.
  • Monitoring the accuracy and completeness of data to assure figures meets quality standards.
  • Actively participate in the improvement of processes in relevant information systems.
  • Complies with organisational policy, including the confidentiality and privacy of health-related information.
  • Ability to work independently and strong engagement skills to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, Midwifery Unit Manager, Midwifery Director, business teams and State networks.
