Clinical Nurse Consultant/Specialist

Our Health Service is expanding!

We are looking for a Clinical Nurse to help support dedicated youth alcohol and other drug treatment and harm reduction capacity in West Moreton Hospital and Health Service and support specialist AOD treatment for children and young people at risk of AOD related harm.

The Alcohol and Other Drugs Service operates a Monday to Friday service within the hours of 8am to 5pm.

This is a permanent full-time role.

About the role

The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for clinical mental health practice at an advanced level to ensure effective service delivery within the specialist area of Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) and Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AODS).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the physiological and psychological aspects of substance withdrawal and misuse when delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
  • Demonstrated ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors and maintain a positive workplace culture through well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and lead quality improvement and research initiatives within the work unit, contributing to the use of evidence based practice to facilitate improved patient outcomes.
