About us:

The Renal Satellite Unit is a specialised unit that has 4 chairs that are fully set up for renal dialysis. The unit has capacity to operate 48 dialysis treatments 6 days per week, this is currently servicing 16 patients.  The Renal Satellite Unit is supported by the CQ Renal Team.

The High Dependency Unit (HDU) is a four bed unit with 6 telemetry units. HDU provides services that include both monitoring and treatment. Anaesthetics provide procedural interventional support and airway and ventilation management while awaiting retrieval.

About the role:

This role will work directly with provision of clinical expertise in patient care within the High Dependency and Renal clinical area.

  • Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge experience and clinical skills in a particular area of expertise.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and application of contemporary nursing/midwifery practice and theory.
  • Coordinate, develop, implement, translate and evaluate clinical practice standard guidelines, procedures and protocols using an evidence-based approach.
  • Responsible for the implementation of a quality and risk management framework to improve quality of care and work environment.

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Post Graduate Studies in Critical Care or Renal Nursing.
  • Post Graduate Studies in Healthcare Management and Leadership will be highly regarded.
  • A relevant postgraduate diploma or Masters' degree is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
