What you will bring to the role

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with minimum seven years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least five years full time equivalent experience in a relevant clinical specialty (i.e. sexual health, family planning, women’s health, obstetrics and gynaecology or emergency nursing) and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of sexual assault or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  2. Have completed the NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence Graduate Certificate in the Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault (or equivalent) and have completed at least three supervised medical and forensic consultations on a patient reporting recent sexual assault. • Have completed or be studying towards within 6 months of commencing in the role: Education Centre Against Violence training modules Forensic Photography; Supervised Medico-Legal; and Provide a Medical and Forensic Response to Domestic and Family Violence (when available), or equivalent courses.
  3. Evidence of consistent demonstration of behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation with all stakeholders including colleagues, direct reports patients and consumers.
  4. Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice and an ability to apply clinical expertise in integrated trauma informed and patient-centred consultancy with the ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  5. Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and proven application of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
  6. Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence-based research.
  7. Demonstrated leadership in strategic and clinical service planning and expertise in the management of organisational and cultural change.
  8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use same as required for the position and the ability to participate in an on-call roster.
