o CYMHS community & CYMHS rural and remote – some outreach clinics required. Potentially some capacity for CYMHS inpatient.
o C&Y Cape York and Torres Strait from April and ongoing.
o Monday to Friday 0800 – 1630

Staff Specialist – Inpatient
• • 27.03.25 – 04.04.25
o Brand new facility from early Feb
o One of 5 inpatient teams supported by registrar, RMO and interns. 5th team is a new PICU dedicated team (not required for this role).The ward operates off geographically based teams (so they allocate patients based on the suburb they live in), which means all teams attend to all levels of acuity.
o Forensic order and treatment authority patients are frequent.
o Seeking stability in this role and willing to consider 12month locum post.
o Monday to Friday 0800 – 1630

Staff Specialist – Remote East
• 14.07.25 – 03.10.25
• 03.11.25 – 21.11.25
• 15.12.25 – 31.12.25
o Minimum 6 week booking
o Fly-in, Fly-out position to the Torres and Cape serving remote communities (Torres Strait, Northern Peninsula and Cooktown/Hopevale/Wujal Wujal). The typical schedule is 1 week on outreach and the other based from cairns V/C
o Monday to Friday 0800 – 1630 - travel can occasionally fall outside of these hours during outreach
o Supported by registrar and GP with advanced skills MH
o Outreach accommodation and travel is arranged by the service
o Seeking stability in this role and willing to consider 12month locum post.

Staff Specialist – Rural Tablelands
• 06.05.25 – 09.05.25
• 29.09.25 – 10.10.25
o This position services rural communities in the Tablelands - primarily Atherton and Mareeba. The position is based out of Cairns 2 days per week and we prefer the consultant attend Atherton/Mareeba in person the other 3 days however there is capacity to modify this on a case-by-case basis
o Monday to Friday 0800 – 1630 - Clinic times are usually 0900-1530 to allow for travel to and from Cairns within business hours. On Cairns based days Drs attend to MDTs and VC clinics
o Mix of F2F, overnight accommodation and V/C from Cairns
o Supported by registrar and GP with advanced skills MH
o Seeking stability in this role and willing to consider 12month locum post.

Staff Specialist – Remote West

o Minimum 6 week booking
o Fly-in, Fly-out position to the Torres and Cape serving remote communities (Indigenous communities of Aurukun, Kowanyama, Pormpuraaw, Lockhart River, Napranum, Mapoon and townships of Weipa and Coen). The typical schedule is 1 week on outreach and the other based from Cairns V/C. There is 1 registrar with this team who typically travels with the consultant.
o Hours are Monday to Friday 0800 - 1630, travel can occasionally fall outside of these hours during outreach.
o Outreach accommodation and travel is arranged by the service.
o Seeking stability in this role and willing to consider 12month locum post

Staff Specialist – Rural Community
• 24.02.25 – 07.03.25

o This position services rural communities in Innisfail, Tully, Mossman & Kuranda. There is 1 registrar attached to Innisfail/Tully & 1 registrar attached to Mossman/Kuranda.
o Mix of F2F, stunning drive to work along Great Barrier Reef Drive, overnight accommodation at Port Douglas and Mission Beach resort, and V/C from Cairns office
o Hours are Monday to Friday 0800-1630.
o The position is based out of Cairns at least 4 days per fortnight, and we prefer the consultant attend in person clinics the other 6 days however there is capacity to modify this on a case-by-case basis. Clinic times are usually 0900-1530 to allow for travel to and from Cairns within business hours. On Cairns based days Drs attend to MDTs and VC clinics.

o This position is with adult community-based teams within the Mental Health Service. The position requires the Consultant Psychiatrist to provide relief as required across these teams, who provide a wide range of MHAOD community-based support across Cairns and Surrounds. The services include telephone-based intake, acute crisis support, rehabilitation, perinatal and continuing community management of people with serious mental illness.
o Monday to Friday 0800 – 1630
