In the absence of the Nurse Grade 7, the Associate Nurse Unit Manager provides professional leadership and collaborates to drive practice improvements and clinical innovation.

About us:

Day Surgery Services manages the Preadmission Clinic, Day Surgery Ward, Endoscopy Unit (Procedure Room), Post Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (Recovery) and support is given to the Clinical Nurse in the Acute Pain Service. These components of the Day Surgery Services collaborate as an integrated Day Surgery Service.  The pre- admission consists of 6 consult rooms with a 10-chair waiting area. Day Surgery consists of a 10 bed and 7 recliner open plan unit. The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit has 9 bays which receives from 5 Operating Theatres, 2 Procedure Rooms as well as the MRI suite. Both elective and emergency surgical patients are managed within the service.

About the role:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) / Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is required to lead and deliver person centred nursing/ midwifery care within a dynamic health environment at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Registered Nurse (RN) Standards of Practice. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

About you:

  • Registration as a Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current practicing certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable for this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $141,363 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $61.20 - $62.48 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
