About the Role:

 

Join our team as an Occupational Therapist Grade 2 – Sub-Acute on a full-time basis based at Monash Health - Kingston Centre.

 

In this role you will cover an exciting variety of clinical caseloads (Neurorehabilitation, GEM and fast stream rehabilitation). This position sits within our large supportive subacute service, primarily delivering Occupational Therapy.

You will work collaboratively with inclusive and passionate occupational therapy and allied health staff to provide excellent, evidence-based care for patients and their families/carers across rehabilitation streams. This role is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality assessments and intervention for patients within a fast-paced environment.

About Us:

 

You will work with patients and clients every day to enable them to improve their participation in occupations. This includes completing occupational assessments, setting goals with your clients and the multidisciplinary team and completing occupational based interventions that make a different to patient’s everyday lives.

 

You will work collaboratively every day with a multi-disciplinary team of allied health, nursing and medical staff. You can share ideas and support joint treatment with a fantastic group of people who are inclusive, passionate and share a vision to provide excellent, evidence-based care for patients and their families.

 

Working across other departmental areas or streams and between Monash Health Sites also form part of this role which means you can build skills in:

About You:

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Engage patients in the participation of their treatment journey
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary
  • Experience in providing a high-quality clinical service to patients in the subacute setting
  • Passion for enhancing patient experiences and facilitation of occupational performance
  • Demonstrated skill in teaching, supervision and promoting the growth and development of staff
  • An aptitude for ongoing learning and personal professional development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A keen interest in evidence-based practice, clinical inquiry, research and service improvement.  

Mandatory requirements of the role:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
  • Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • OT Australia Membership required
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
