We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Consultant to join our Intensive & Critical Care Unit Team!

About the role:

Reporting to the Medical Director and Nursing Director of ICCU as the Nurse Consultant you will contribute expert nursing leadership to promote excellence in central venous access care delivered by multi-disciplinary clinicians within SALHN.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Governance and Coordination of SALHN Central Venous Access Service
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise and leadership in central venous access management and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop effective and safe care plans
  • Oversee the management of National Standards pertaining to the key performance indicators associated with central venous access
  • Monitor SLS for emerging risks and trends requiring clinical practice improvement
  • Development, coordination and delivery of education programs pertaining to central venous access
  • Cost effective management of human and material resources related to central venous access

About you:

  • Registered Nurse with minimum 3 years post-registration experience holding a current practicing certificate with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated competence in Central Vascular Access practices in both critical and general care nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven experience in leading and delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
