About the role
As the BreastScreen SA (BSSA) Clinical Director, you will lead and shape the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective clinical services across South Australia. Collaborating closely with program leadership, you will provide strategic advice, oversee clinical governance, and drive continual improvement initiatives to enhance performance. With a focus on clinical excellence, you will guide quality assurance programs, ensure patient safety, and foster research and innovation within BSSA.
In this pivotal role, you will maintain key relationships with professional bodies and universities, ensuring BSSA’s reputation as a leader in breast cancer screening. Alongside your strategic responsibilities, you will also carry a clinical caseload in your discipline—either radiology or surgery—delivering direct patient care while advising on policy compliance and clinical management standards. About You
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join BreastScreen SA as the Clinical Director. You will bring:
- Qualifications and Expertise: MBBS or equivalent with specialist registration, alongside proven experience in radiology and/or surgical medicine services, research, and teaching.
- Exceptional Leadership and Communication: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills with the ability to motivate, resolve conflict, and lead change effectively.
- Strategic and Operational Excellence: Experience in strategic planning, clinical governance, and risk management within a complex health system or public medical imaging environment.
- Commitment to Quality and Safety: Comprehensive knowledge of quality management, patient safety, and compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and standards.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: High-level decision-making, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with a dedication to continuous improvement and innovation.
