Principal House Officer - Intensive Care Unit

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are looking for a Principal House Officer to join their team. The ICU will provide specialist clinical care to critically ill adult in-patients at Redlands Hospital and will also support ICU Services in Metro South Health Service area. The Clinical Outreach team will operate out of the ICU on a 24/7 basis and provide specialist clinical care and support for in-hospital resuscitation, patients experiencing clinical deterioration and provide support to staff within the general hospital precinct.

About the Role

  • Appropriate knowledge, skills, and procedural skills to ensure safe patient care during patient assessment and management including emergencies.
  • A high level of written and oral communication and an ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, relatives, and other health professionals.
  • Capacity to perform clinical and administrative duties proficiently and professionally as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to postgraduate medical education and training.
