You will be accountable for your practice standards, as well as guiding and developing less experienced staff to ensure high-quality care. You will play a key leadership role in supporting the Nursing Unit Manager in overseeing the nursing and midwifery staff across the ward/unit/service. This will involve promoting consistency of care, assisting with the implementation of practice changes, and contributing to service management tasks such as performance management, staffing, recruitment, rostering, and financial planning. Key Requirements:
- Qualifications: Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practising certificate.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills; ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage workloads independently.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife; experience supervising students and less experienced staff.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, quality improvement systems, and contemporary nursing/midwifery issues.
