Fixed term temporary opportunity to provide specialist psychiatric services to forensic and high-risk consumers across the southern and central areas of Queensland as part of the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service (QFMHS).

About the role

Fixed term temporary opportunity to provide specialist psychiatric services to forensic and high-risk consumers across the southern and central areas of Queensland as part of the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service (QFMHS) Court Liaison Service, Community Forensic Outreach Service, Qld Fixated Threat Assessment Centre, Indigenous Mental Health Intervention Program, Police Communications Centre Mental Health Liaison Service, Parole Board Liaison).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals and support the implementation of evidence based clinical practice.
  • Participate in the delivery of clinical services within a coordinated, comprehensive, recovery orientated framework that reflects a biopsychosocial best practice model of care and involve consumers and carers.
  • Effectively communicate and consult with other health professionals and relevant agencies as required in respect to optimal delivery of evidence based clinical care.
  • Provide regular oversight and teaching to medical and other professional staff within the team and deliver education through training seminars and tutorials to other clinical staff.
