Nurse Manager

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.


What you'll be doing
The Workforce Nurse Manager is responsible for Nursing and Midwifery recruitment and retention. The role will support the Director of Nursing and Midwifery services to achieve strategic and operational efficiency objectives for the Nursing workforce. The role will collaboratively work with the Nursing Executive, and NUMs to ensure effective, sustainable and efficient recruitment of Nurses and Midwives.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:


  1. Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
  2. Recent senior nursing management experience in an acute setting supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  3. Demonstrated experience in managing operational workforce matters at a senior level.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently analyse, interpret, respond to and manage key operational issues.
  5. Demonstrated experience and a proven track record in managing key priorities and delivering successful strategies and solutions using excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently recruit nursing staff and maintain workforce profiles at an organisational level.
