About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The purpose of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Taskforce Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior infection prevention clinical expertise and leadership as a member of the IPC Taskforce and to act as a resource and mentor for the nursing staff of the IPC Taskforce. The CNS will employ advanced clinical skills and exercise extended autonomy of decision making, working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
This position will be working Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

Ideal Candidate
- Has current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Experience and understanding of the core Infection Prevention & Control principles.
- Holds a current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
