  1. This position has been advertised under the SWSLHD Aboriginal Targeted Recruitment Program. This means Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, where found suitable, will be given higher priority. Do you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander? If so, please tell us about your Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage, including a brief description of your family and community connections.
  2. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Child and Family Health nursing qualifications or commitment to undertake and complete in first 12 months, with relevant experience.
  3. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the Child and Family Health Nursing Speciality.
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with clients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  6. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  7. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  8. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  10. Demonstrated understanding of the range of factors that have influenced the health status of Aboriginal communities and experience in the delivery of culturally safe health services to Aboriginal families.
  11. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
