What we are looking for...
- Sound knowledge and understanding of psychiatric disorders and their treatment; and of the principles of mental health promotion and community based health care.
- Extensive experience in a community based mental health service including crisis intervention, assertive case management and community-based treatment; and eligibility for nomination as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (at least 3 years post-graduate experience in mental health).
- ability to work alone and with other health professionals within a multidisciplinary team.
- Well developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current C Class drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel within the Pilbara including overnight stays away from home.
Position Profile:
Provide community mental health services to clients of the Pilbara Mental Health and Drug Service in the Pilbara based on best practice, including providing a service which is culturally secure and takes into account the emotional, social and spiritual well-being of our Aboriginal clients.
