Clinical Nurse Consultant/Specialist

Provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Crisis Stabilisation Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Undertake the clinical assessment, management/treatment planning to support a comprehensive assessment and recovery based care
  • Utilise clinical skills commensurate to individual level of experience
  • Provide clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation
  • Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
  • A graduate certificate or greater qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time and Permanent part time (several positions, hours negotiable)
  • Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum, $54.44 - $58.30 per hour
