Gosford Hospital is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses for temporary positions in our Intensive Care Unit (J6). As a vital member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill patients and lead fellow nursing staff in delivering quality healthcare.

In this role, you will practice as a Registered Nurse in alignment with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and the Nurses Standards of Practice. Your key responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions to ensure positive health outcomes for patients. You will coordinate care effectively, collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, you will engage in accurate documentation and reporting using relevant electronic systems, ensuring compliance with legal and care standards. Your commitment to continuous improvement and professional development will also play a critical role in enhancing the quality of care we provide. At times you may be required to work in other clinical areas across the hospital due to staffing and unit activity..

An Eligibility List (E-List) or talent pool list is being created from this recruitment episode to assist in filling future permanent, temporary, full-time, and part-time positions.

Within this recruitment episode may be maternity relief positions and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

About You

  • You have a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum 2 years Critical Care/Acute Care experience
  • You have a solid understanding of team nursing, with proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • You have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences,along with proficiency in using information technology to enhance patient care.
