SA Health is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-time, Short Term Contract Patient Flow Coordinator for a 6-month contract at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide's metropolitan southern region.

About the role:

Reporting to the Advance Nursing Director, in this role you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and timely movement of patients throughout the healthcare system. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring patient flow, identifying potential bottlenecks, and implementing strategies to optimize patient throughput. You will work closely with various healthcare professionals, fostering effective communication and collaboration to ensure seamless transitions for patients. Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing management support to a specific span of wards/units/programs/service.
  • Coordinating and managing projects, programs and/or research to achieve improved patient/client outcomes and/or service delivery.
  • Provides corporate support in effective resource management for nursing/midwifery services during and after hours.

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet timelines
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting.
