Innisfail Hospital is a 49 bed rural hospital providing health care services at Level 3 – 4 within the Clinical Services Capability Framework. The Emergency Department is a busy rural department with approximately 1400 presentations per month. The Specialist Clinics area supports approximately 10 – 14 public and private visiting outreach specialist services. The Innisfail Chemotherapy unit within the Specialist clinic area operates 2 days per week providing medical oncology services. About your opportunity:

In this position you will be accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of meeting best practice standards for clinical practice, patient centred care within a multidisciplinary team for the Emergency Department, Specialist Clinics and Ambulatory care areas through role specific expertise and the provision of effective and efficient human and material resources.

About your role:

  • Provide effective and efficient management of service in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, clinical and non-clinical staff to facilitate the provision of quality evidence based care.
  • Provide leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate health services to achieve organisational goals.
  • Accountable for providing sound professional leadership in dealing with significant issues related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation and coordination of service programs in a defined practice area for groups and individuals with diverse requirements.
  • Effectively manage self and in collaboration with Nurse Educators and other Nurse Unit Managers and develop staff to enable fulfilment of role responsibilities.
