About the opportunity:
Position: Registered Midwife (Caseload) – Midwifery Group Practice
Vacancy: Permanent full-time
Location: Midwifery Group Practice, Women's and Children's Service Group, Townsville University Hospital.
The role of the Registered Midwife – Caseload - Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) MICAP is to provide primary midwifery care for a caseload of up to 32 women per year, in collaboration with other health care providers, across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the post-partum period within Maternity Services and in the community.
Enjoy a generous remuneration package valued up to $121,464 p.a., including:
- Salary range: $3171.90 to $4068.50 p.f. (Nurse Grade 5)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus 35% loading, as specified and subject to the requirements of Schedule 3 of the Nurses and midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:
- Qualification: Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
- Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification. The ideal candidate will have current or recent (within 12 mths) caseload experience
- Demonstrates clinical skills in IV cannulation, water immersion in labour and waterbirth, perineal suturing and speculum examination. If not competent in these skills must be willing to undertake the necessary training during the term of this employment.
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
