What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager provides strategic leadership and manages resources to ensure safe, high-quality care. This senior role requires collaboration across teams to drive service improvements and support professional growth.

  • Oversees clinical and operational management of mental health services.
  • Ensures efficient resource use, including human and fiscal resources.
  • Provides guidance on nursing standards and patient care quality.
  • Leads staff development, mentorship, and change management initiatives.
  • Promotes a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

Qualification: Registered Nurse
Registration in line with Award requirements: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health PractitionerRegulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated management/education and leadership experience in the public sector including appropriate relevant post graduate qualifications, or extensive experience deemed appropriate by employer.
  2. Demonstrated leadership within the workplace including the ability to form productive working relationships through high level interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  3. Demonstrated high level project and change management skills and the ability to use diagnostic tools and interventions including information technology platforms.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of roster creation/management and human resource management skills, including the ability to manage daily staffing requirements, recruitment management experience, and knowledge of workforce systems within health.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to own professional development in areas relevant to health management and leadership.
  6. Current valid NSW drivers license and ability to travel between various sites for work purposes.
