About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecologyteam as a Clinical Midwife - Research , where you will be responsible for:
- Providing support to clinical research projects within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
- Conducting research and clinical tasks for clinical research studies in preconception and pregnancy-related clinical trials.
- Recruiting, counselling, and enrolling research participants, including women of reproductive age, their infants/children, and partners.
- Conducting virtual and face-to-face appointments to collect demographic, clinical, and anthropometric data, as well as biological samples.
- Collecting pregnancy and birth outcome data for women who give birth while participating in trials.
- Providing preconception counselling, including advice on pregnancy preparation, immunisation, cervical screening updates, and general health and lifestyle recommendations for participants planning pregnancy.
- Guiding and supporting the development of less experienced staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Registered Midwife with at least 3 years, fulltime equivalent, post registration experience.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of midwifery practice
- Demonstrated leadership and direction of student midwives, enrolled midwives, and less experienced registered midwives.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to people from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines.
- Competent administrative and record keeping skills.
