About the role:

Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Training, the Deputy Director of Clinical Training at SALHN plays a pivotal role in shaping a robust educational experience for Interns and other prevocational Trainee Medical Officers (TMOs). Duties for the role will include:

  • This role actively contributes to the development and promotion of a high-quality educational environment, acknowledging the diverse backgrounds and training needs of individuals, including IMGs, General Trainees, and General Practice Trainees. This inclusive approach reflects a commitment to catering to the unique challenges and aspirations of a varied cohort of medical professionals.
  • Working in tandem with a range of stakeholders, the Deputy Director of Clinical Training ensures that Interns, prevocational TMOs, IMGs, General Trainees, and General Practice Trainees receive mentorship and support during their time at SALHN. The collaborative efforts extend to fostering a safe and supportive environment, recognising the importance of a nurturing atmosphere for the diverse group of professionals under the training umbrella.

About you:

  • You must possess a bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
  • Sound knowledge of Work Health Safety principles and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of Quality Management principles and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of Adult Learning principles and curriculum development
  • Understanding of delegated safety roles and responsibilities.
