The Margaret Tobin Centre is a 38 bed mental health inpatient area consisting of an 8 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and two Acute Care Units that can admit a total of 30 consumers.
Mental Health consumers can either be admitted in a planned manner through Community Mental Health Services, through an emergency department or via a general medical/surgical pathway.
About the role:
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager and the Nurse Consultant, some of your duties as the Registered or Clinical Nurse may involve:
- Assessing individual patient/client needs, planning, implementing and/or coordinating appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies.
- Providing health promotion and education to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of the individual.
- Participating in evaluative research activities within the practice setting.
About you:
- Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
- Mustbe enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
- Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice.
- (RN2C)- Registered Nurse withat least 3 years, full time equivalent, post-registration experience.
- Awareness of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
