As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Acute Ward, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality nursing care while developing your skills from proficient to expert. Lead with expertise, support with heart – you’ll have the opportunity to guide and mentor a team of dedicated nurses and midwives, while holding accountability for your own practice standards.

Working closely with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, you’ll contribute to the leadership and smooth running of the ward/unit/service, ensuring continuity and consistency of care across the team. You’ll assist with implementing practice improvements, managing performance processes, and overseeing essential tasks such as staffing, recruitment, rostering, and leave management.

What You'll Bring

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

This is a part time vacancy, working 20 hours per week and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
