We have an exciting permanent part time opportunity for you to join our Clinical Excellence Branch located in Brisbane! You will coordinate training, continuing education and communications for forensic examiners as a member of the FMQ Education team.
The role
Reporting to the Director, Forensic Medicine Queensland (FMQ), the Nurse Educator Forensic Medicine role is a member of the FMQ Education team providing expert leadership and education to Hospital and Health Services' forensic examination services across Queensland. The role also supports and implements reform initiatives to improve education and service delivery. Regular intrastate travel, including overnight stays, is required.
The successful person
- Proven ability to provide expert education, learning and developmenet opportunities inclusive of expert and contemporary adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated advanced leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and change management skills to ensure trauma informed and victim centric service provision to sexual assault victims.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders including executive teams, state-wide multi-agency, multi-disciplinary groups and services to improve the sexual assault response service within Queensland Health.
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills.
- A willingness to regularly travel intra-state to deliver and support forensic medical examination training to clinicians.
- Commitment to the ongoing development of clinical, forensic and personal skills.
- Sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.
- Commitment to pursue opportunities for ongoing professional development of self and others.
- Understanding of learning and development in a health care environment (adult learning principles) with demonstrated facilitation skills.
