An opportunity exists to join the Occupational Therapy Department at Bowral Hospital in a senior Occupational therapist role. This position sits within the Out patient/ Inpatient Paediatrics caseload. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic occupational therapist with creative approaches to therapy. The role involves assessment and intervention with paediatric patients and works within a supportive multidisciplinary team including Speech pathology, Physiotherapy and Dietitian.

What You'll Be Doing
The occupational therapist will provide clinical services to outpatient children typically aged 0-6 years of age with complex needs or suspected developmental delay, and children with handwriting or regulation difficulties aged K-6. The role sometimes involves providing care of children with complex or varied needs as a transitionary support whilst children are awaiting NDIS funding. The role also involves servicing the inpatient Paediatric Ward and Special Care Nursery. The occupational therapist will provide evidence-based care within a multidisciplinary and family-centred context and utilise holistic occupational therapy models of care. The Occupational Therapist is also responsible for undertaking designated administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery including management of waiting lists and service design.

  1. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within the Paediatric Department.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols
  4. Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  5. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
  7. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
