We have VMO vacancies in our Primary Care team, these vacancies are:

  • 24 Hours per 4 week cycle - Silverwater Women (Mulawa)
  • 32 Hours per 4 week cycle - Dillwynia and Emu Plains
  • 32 Hours per 4 week cycle - Cessnock
  • 32 Hours per 4 week cycle - Wellington
  • Zero-Hour (Leave Relief) - State-wide

This is a Targeted Aboriginal Position. Preference will be given to applicants of Aboriginal descent. Exemption is claimed under Section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977

An exciting opportunity is available fora Visiting Medical Officer - Primary Careto join our service at the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network.

We are looking for a qualifiedhealth care professional with:

· Current medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

· Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP)ORAustralasian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).

· Proof of recognition as a specialist by the Specialists Recognition Advisory Committee Award.

· Demonstrated significant experience in General Practice with knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

· Previous experience in emergency medicine, general practice, adult internal medicine, or rural medicine is an advantage.

TheVisiting Medical Officer- Primary Careis responsible for the provision of general medical services to patients within correctional environments in Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network facilities. The position will work collaboratively with the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), Service Director Primary Care and Clinical Director Primary Care to enhance the existing services in line with organisational needs and best practice.
