About the role:

This specialised unit is a dynamic and an innovative service for people who use stimulants and comprises of: S-Check (Biopsychosocial check-ups); STP (counselling); Drop-In Clinic (support and case management) and support to patients whilst they are in St Vincent’s Hospital. The position provides a unique opportunity to work in all these environments, supported by comprehensive strengths based, reflective supervision practice.

Providing brief intervention in a consultation-liaison role to clients who present with stimulant related concerns in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Delivery of high-quality specialist assessment, interventions and health education to clients of Stimulant Services. Provides nursing support to Stimulant Services.

About you:

The Stimulant Treatment Program (STP) Registered Nurse will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to provide assessments and treatment planning for people seeking treatment for stimulant use, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will provide evidence-based nursing care to peopleof all agesand cultural groups, includingindividuals,familiesandcommunities. You will assess,make plans,implementand evaluatenursingcareincollaborationwithindividualsandtheMDTsoasto achievegoalsandhealthoutcomes.

You will also facilitate engagement, and referral to the Alcohol and Drug Service, Stimulant Services and external organisations.

2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

6. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse
