What you'll be doing
The Assistant in Midwifery works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Midwife, supporting the midwifery team in the delivery of woman-centered care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team.
Selection Criteria
- Completion of clinical and academic requirements of at least one clinical placement as part of the Bachelor of Midwifery program, and currently enrolled in the program with a clinical placement.
- Demonstrated understanding of delegation and ability to work within a plan of care under the supervision and direction of a registered midwife.
- Understanding of and dedication to woman centered care.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. through the use of information technology, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work and ability to work within the scop of practice of an assistant in midwifery.
- Evidence of participation in personal development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills.

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directivePD2024_015.All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy.
