About the opportunity:

Position: Staff Specialist

Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 64 hours per fortnight

Location: Palliative Care, Medical Service Group

Provide Specialist Palliative Medicine as part of interdisciplinary care for patients referred to the Community Palliative Care Service of the Townsville University Hospital.

Take the lead role in the ongoing development of Community Palliative Care Services.

Develop and further the training, education and research functions of the Townsville Palliative Care Service of the Medical Service Group.

  • Salary range: $100.78 to $127.77 p.h. (L18 - L27)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary) 
  • Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a
  • Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave

Requirements:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Palliative Medicine.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with sub speciality training in Palliative Care Medicine, or Fellowship in the Chapter of Palliative Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FAChPM).
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
