A Western NSW hospital requires Senior Medical Officer in General Practice for the following date(s).
Shift(s) details as below:
from 10/03/2025 08:00 to 18/03/2025 08:00 at $2200 per day
GP VMO - capable of managing approx. 10 presentations daily. Must have completed eMeds training. Emergency, Trauma, Adult & Paediatric Support, sound clinical judgement and communicate appropriately. On-call: You will be the sole Doctor on call 24/7. You will be called for all triage categories at the discretion of the local Registered nurses, vCare or VRGS. Expectation that you review all cases in-person throughout the day. Overnight (from 8pm) you are expected to review Category 1, 2s and 3s in-person. Category 4 and 5s will be escalated directly with you at all hours with discretion of nursing staff in liaison with yourself. Should a RN require you to attend, you will be required to do so regardless of Triage Category. On-call will also require you to attend inpatients that are deteriorating. Fatigue breaks if required are to be discussed prior to taking any break with the Health Service Manager. Support is available via vCare in emergency situations should you require additional support. Hours to be on-site: 8am ward rounds, followed by ED reviews - finish time in negotiated with site. GP with Emergency Department Experience. Doctors need to have wide variety of experience in Emergency Departments, capable of managing approximately 30 presentations per day, working with one FLEC (First Line Emergency Care) trained RN.
