    Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

    Tupu Ora is the community-based regional eating disorders service providing assessment and evidence-based treatment for children, young people, and adults with acute and complex eating disorders in the metro Auckland region. The service also provides consultation and liaison to both Auckland and Northland and receives and manages referrals to the supra-regional beds at the Eating Disorders Unit (EDU).

    This specific role is at the front end of our service, and we are looking for an experienced mental health nurse to manage our referrals, provide assessments and liaise appropriately. You will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating service user access to the range of clinical services that we provide. This includes managing and triaging all referrals, dealing with enquiries from GPs, the public, referrers, and hospitals. The role will also include working alongside our specialist clinicians in completing assessments and liaising with other services e.g. community mental health centers and hospitals

    Work is Monday to Friday.

    Preference is for full time, but 0.8fte may be considered for the right candidate.

    This is an opportunity to be a part of a team that will support excellent clinical care into the future, as well as offering the chance to develop your existing mental health knowledge and clinical skills in an established and multidisciplinary work environment. You will have an ability to work collaboratively across a wide spectrum of clinical and cultural services, the NGO and community sector, and provide input and support to other members of the service.

    This role will suit someone who has worked in an eating disorder setting & is dedicated to empowering and enabling service users. You’re a confident communicator and decision maker with strong clinical competencies and a high level of time management and organizational skills. Preferably, you will have some acute mental health experience or knowledge.

    You will be a registered mental health professional with a full and clean NZ driver's license as this is a community-based role. We would support a registered nurse to work towards a Level 4 PDRP within the first year. This role is not suitable for new graduate applications.
