About the opportunity:
Step up into clinical leadership.
This role is suitable for a dentist with clinical experience looking for a career opportunity in leading clinical service provision in a large regional centre, including mentoring of junior clinicians and supervision of students.
The Oral Health Service in Western NSW Local Health District provides free dental care to eligible patients in Western NSW and has a supportive and friendly culture. The Orange Community Dental Clinic is a modern 8 chair facility located within Orange Health Service. The clinic provides outpatient care to eligible patients, support to inpatients and treatment as required under general anaesthetic.
In addition, outreach services are provided to smaller rural communities in both fixed and mobile clinics. Care is also provided by final year dentistry and oral health therapy students on clinical placement.

· This position will attract the Dental Officer Management Allowance $14,412 pa and the NSW Dental Officer Rural Incentive Scheme (DORIS) equivalent to $20,000 per annum ($10.09 per hour).

1. Highly advanced clinical skills, advanced clinical reasoning and excellent patient management skills in all aspects of general public sector dentistry, including to work independently as a sole practitioner.
2. Strong commitment to work in rural NSW and understanding of issues related to working in Aboriginal communities and with rural communities.
3. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a clinic based dental team; and demonstrated history of working well as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary dental clinic team.
4. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a digital dental team environment, including but not limited to electronic oral health records, digital imaging and telehealth systems.
