About the role

The Enrolled Nurse provides nursing care to a group of patients in collaboration with other health service providers under the supervision (direct or indirect) of the Registered Nurse.

These positions are appointed as permanent employees of the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service under Mental Health and Specialised Services and may be required to work across the Hospital and Health Service in any comparable position.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Consistently delivers a high level of service of patients, demonstrating rapport building skills, listening skills and good communication skills in a forensic environment.
  • Experience in medication administration and the ability to monitor physical co-morbidity for clients with mental health problems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage your day with a commitment to nursing and flexibility to adapt to unexpected change in patient condition. This includes the ability to deescalate a patient safely as required.
  • Willing to take instructions and guidance from others and willing to help and support others to contribute within a team environment.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
  • Experience in mental health is essential.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia ie Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA. Including any necessary endorsements (eg medication endorsement). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
