Working as Rehabilitation Advanced Trainee

Rehabilitation Medicine Specialists are experts in the diagnosis, assessment and management of neurological and musculoskeletal injuries or illnesses which can result in brief or long-term disability. Rehabilitation Medicine Physicians work with people living with a disability to help them achieve an optimal level of performance and improve their quality of life. Medicine Registrar Runs

Medicine Registrar runs in the Auckland region are six months in length, following which you may rotate into a different run. Example run descriptions for the 2024 training year can be viewed on the Auckland Doctors website. For further information on Advanced Training in New Zealand please visit the RACP website.

There are two types of jobs available:

Basic and Advanced Training in Rehab Medicine

· You will need to be PGY3 or above at commencement date, and be registrable or already registered as a trainee in rehabilitation medicine with the AFRM.

· You will need to be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Support and assistance with this process is provided.

Six month allocations for those interested in Rehabilitation experience as part of their training in General Medicine or specialty training

· For those in interested in rehabilitation medicine experience as part of their training in geriatric medicine, neurology or related speciality training (please note: you must be a current employee to be eligible for a six month run).

· You will need to be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Support and assistance with this process is provided.
