Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Cardiovascular services at Te Toka Tumai Auckland provide care to a local and national population for interventional cardiology, electrophysiology and arrhythmia management, heart failure and adult congenital heart disease.

We are inviting application from passionate sonographers with leadership and management experience and commitment to provide top quality patient care as the Charge Cardiac Sonographer position in our adult Cardiovascular services. This will cover both Auckland City Hospital and Green Lane Clinical Centre sites.

The role involves:

· Providing clinical and operational leadership and management functions for the Cardiac Sonographers and trainees

· Providing professional leadership in collaboration with the Allied Health Director

· Modelling and providing senior/advanced clinical practice in accordance with clinical scope of practice, code of ethics and standards of practice

· Driving key quality improvements and initiatives in the service, ensuring implementation of evidence based practice

· Collaborating with other regional centres

· This senior role is ideally suited to a person with energy, enthusiasm and initiative, you will need to be able to demonstrate advanced leadership skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving and service improvement. You will be registered with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board under the Sonographer scope of practice and hold a current annual practising certificate (or be eligible for the same).

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

You will have:

Ability to demonstrate advanced leadership skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving and serviceimprovement.

· You will have Registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board under the Sonographer scope of practice and hold a current annual practising certificate.

· 5-10 years post registration experience and with an ability to work at an advanced clinical level of practice

· Post Graduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasound / Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound (or equivalent) qualification recognised by MRT Board for registration
