Occupational Therapist

The In-reach Rehabilitation Unit are looking for an Advanced Allied Health Assistant to join their team. You will contribute to patient care by providing administrative and advanced clinical assistance to allied health professionals (AHP) in their day-to-day clinical duties. Works under the supervision and direction of the AHP and undertakes only those clinical tasks delegated to them. You will also supervise and coordinate allied health assistants working within the multidisciplinary In-reach Rehabilitation Service.

About the Role

  • Undertake day to day workload management of the therapy assistants to accommodate planned and unplanned leave and changing requirements of clinicians to ensure the delivery of a quality service.
  • Follow defined scope of practice under a delegation model, ensuring service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.
  • Provide a range of specialised clinical screening assessments for patients with complex needs as delegated by and under the direction of the AHP. The AHP determines tasks the AHA is competent to perform.
