About the Roles:

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is a leading provider of Healthcare Services across multiple healthcare facilities including Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Health Services. Our Speech Pathology Service is integral in our aim to optimise healthcare outcomes for patients in our community.

SALHN have opportunities available for professional AHP1, AHP2 and AHP3 Speech Pathologists to join our highly diverse and experienced team. Details of what the roles include:

  • Providing assessment and treatment of acute adult inpatients and outpatients.
  • The ability to rotate though a series of clinical services with an opportunity to develop a variety of clinical skills and knowledge.
  • The chance to assist in the provision of training and supervision of undergraduate speech pathology students.
  • The chance to actively contribute to the provision of high quality, evidence based patient services through assisting in the planning and implementation of service improvement programs.

Successful applicants will receive a thorough induction and orientation, and regular on-going clinical supervision.

About you:

  • Willing to embrace reflective practice and take ownership of theoretical and clinical skill development.
  • Willingness to undertake further study/research in the area of specialised acute adult disorders of swallowing or communication.
  • Appropriate degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
  • Demonstrated competency in Speech Pathology assessment and treatment techniques.
  • Demonstrated competency in the clinical management of a broad range of conditions.
  • Ability to initiate and lead change that results in improved outcomes and facilitates continuous quality improvement.
