An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Mental Health, Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service as a Psychologist – Senior (Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician – Senior). You will deliver high quality training for residential care providers, foster and kinship carers and other stakeholders regarding trauma informed care and attachment issues for children in care. The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.

The Mental Health, Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service (MHATODS) is responsible for delivering services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other services in the surrounding areas of Cape York, Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.
