The Clinical Information Systems Coordinator will act as a clinical lead in developing and implementing policies and procedures to facilitate improved workflows across all cancer services at POWH.

The position holder will establish collaborative relationships with individuals and groups internal and external to POWH Cancer Services. The timely and effective communication of information and knowledge to engage key stakeholders is a critical component of this role.

The position is part of the POWH Comprehensive Cancer and Blood Disorders Centre (CCBDC), which integrates all cancer disciplines (Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Haematology, Hereditary Cancer, Palliative Care, and Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) Cancer Services).

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.

A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.

Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

Selection Criteria:

  1. A Registered Nurse with a minimum 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post-graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field of practice (Cancer) [Note: applicants seeking employment under the Public Health System Nurses’ & Midwives’ (State) Award should refer to the Competency Framework attachment] OR - A Clinical Pharmacist with a minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience post-registration, with post-graduate qualifications in a specialty field relevant to Cancer.
  2. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency (APHRA)
  3. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums.
  4. Ability to build, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with senior clinicians, executives and service managers
  5. Demonstrated skills and experience in project management
  6. Ability to build organisational change-readiness through the possession of sound problem-solving skills and a high degree of initiative
  7. Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating education and training.
  8. Able to demonstrate computer literacy and a willingness to develop skills in information management and technology that are relevant to the cancer care setting.
