Overview:

The Health Services Programs Branch is responsible for strategic program development and delivery for key health priorities within three key streams; planned care, unplanned care and end of life care. The Branch has a health policy focus to drive better value health care that improves population health and patient experience, and consolidates operational focus and crisis response as needed.

The applicant should:

  • have a comprehensive understanding of elective surgery processes, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
  • be familiar with healthcare regulations and standards related to elective surgeries, and their application to ensure compliance and high-quality care.
  • have experience in implementing patient-centered care models that improve patient outcomes and satisfaction in planned care settings.
  • have knowledge of strategies to enhance the efficiency of elective surgery scheduling and resource allocation to minimise wait times and optimise patient flow.
  • be proficient in using data analytics to inform decision-making processes, identify trends, and drive improvements in planned care services.
  • have the ability to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to elective surgeries, such as surgical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • have skills in statistical analysis to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
  • have expertise in creating clear and concise reports that communicate data findings to stakeholders.

For RN/M4 :

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
