As an MDU Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you'll be a vital part of the Flinders Medical Centre unit within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. The Medical Day Unit is a vibrant 6 chair/bed day procedure treatment area, providing a diverse range of services to day-only patients from 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
About the role:
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager in this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the delivery of exceptional patient care, managing a team of dedicated nurses, and ensuring the smooth operation of the unit. Your duties will include providing pre and post-procedure care for patients undergoing cardioversion, TOE, and loop recorder insertion, as well as managing the care of patients requiring adult and paediatric allergy treatments, abdominal paracentesis, lumbar punctures, monoclonal antibody infusions, first-dose Gilenya monitoring, and various blood-related infusions.
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
