An opportunity has arisen for an experienced mental health pharmacist to join the team at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital (HKH).

What you'll be doing

The senior pharmacist manages the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy service delivered to the Mental Health Units at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital; reporting and liaising with either the Director or Deputy Director of Pharmacy. The senior pharmacist will ensure that high quality, safe, person-centered and cost-efficient service is provided to mental health services. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligible for immediate registration) with no conditions or restrictions on practice and evidence of extensive and relevant hospital experience.
  2. Provide evidence of proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals and external service providers. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
  3. Substantial relevant clinical pharmacy experience and a broad range of clinical knowledge in the area of Mental Health in an acute hospital setting.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
