The Ayr Health Service, is a 28-bed facility located in the township of Ayr, in North Queensland. The Ayr Health Service offers general medical, surgical and obstetric services to Ayr, Home Hill and the broader Burdekin Shire.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Ayr Health Service as an Enrolled Nurse, on a permanent part-time basis, hours negotiable.

About the opportunity:

Position: Enrolled Nurse 

Vacancy: Permanent part-time, hours negotiable 

Location: Ayr Health Service

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: 

  • Ability to contribute to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred nursing care under the delegation of the registered nurse/midwife.
  • Ability to work as an effective member within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
  • Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to demonstrate own ongoing professional development.

What the Townsville Hospital and Health Service has to offer:

  • Salary range: 35.92 to $38.12 p.h. (Nurse Grade 3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualification: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Proof of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable: Evidence of completion of modules related to medication administration and peripheral intravenous therapy.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
