Do you want to be a part of a team that promotes and improves the health of its people and community?

We are seeking experienced emergency management professionals to join our team of specialists across Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group (SCGOPHCG) reducing the vulnerability of our patients, visitors and staff.

This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension(s), and/or permanency.

What is our Senior Emergency Management Officer role?

Emergency Management Services is a small team that works across two sites. Our role is holistically to plan, prevent, prepare for, respond to and/or recover from an emergency or potential emergency at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) and Osborne Park Hospital (OPH).

Working within our small team of Emergency Management specialists, the Senior Emergency Management Officer contributes to and undertakes the development, monitoring, maintenance, evaluation and continuous improvement of the Emergency Management activities at Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group (SCGOPHCG), including policies, plans, procedures and guidelines across SCGH and OPH sites.

In this role, you will also facilitate the associated implementation of change throughout the hospital(s). Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to and investigating hospital emergencies, including Emergency Operations Centres.
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating hospital emergency preparedness including evacuation, fire safety and major incident training.
  • Contributing to planning and risk mitigation for planned building works including major infrastructure development.

The successful applicant may be required to participate in an on-call roster as part of employment at the need of the service, including after-hours, weekends and public holidays.

While your qualifications and experience tell us part of your story, your values and attitude speak louder still. At NMHS, we aim to ensure our behaviours reflect our core values: Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Integrity.  During the selection process you will be assessed on your ability to fulfil the responsibilities of this position while upholding our values.
